Balance Matters falls prevention program
Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m.
Balance Matters features a standardized fall risk assessment to implement and education on fall risk awareness and home safety. A checklist is provided for attendees on the benefits of exercise and therapy to help decrease potential fall risks. The checklist includes a list of services available for those who are identified at risk for falls, with proper recommendations for skilled services as needed. Vital Wellness offers a comprehensive suite of home care and private duty services throughout the Midwest and in Denver, Colo.

Since 2011, independent insurance broker Craig Stout, also known as Professor Medicare, has shown seniors and baby boomers how to navigate Medicare’s alphabet soup so they can feel safe and secure with health coverage throughout retirement.

The Power of Balance fitness class
Tuesdays Nov. 7, 14 and 21 at 11 a.m.
Power of Balance is designed to improve strength and balance, and to reduce the risk of falls. Attendees will learn a combination of strengthening exercises and balance techniques to improve stability and confidence. All fitness levels welcome.

Thanksgiving Craft Workshop with Tiffany Turner
Wednesday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m.
During this relaxed and informal workshop, attendees will be guided through the process of making their own Thanksgiving centerpiece, using a selection of embellishments to make the centerpiece truly unique. All materials are included.

Friday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.
The city of Denver was shaped by the efforts of many great people, and this presentation will cover some familiar names as well as some lesser known figures as they trace the impact of these women and their place in history. Active Minds provides lifelong learning programs for seniors and adults with a schedule of educational classes and other resources.

The Avenues Crofton Park to host Library2Go for “Family Connections”
Monday, Nov. 20 at 3 p.m.
During “Family Connections,” attendees will learn how to use Facetime, Skype and Google Hangout for video conferencing as well as learn how to convert family history, photos and papers into digital formats for online sharing. Library2Go’s programs are instructional and hands-on workshops brought to your neighborhood by the city of Broomfield.

David Hidalgo to perform at Resident Potluck Social

The theme for this month’s Resident Potluck Social is fall, as chilly fall days call for hearty potluck recipes made with the season’s most heartwarming flavors: apples, pumpkins, cranberries, pears, caramel and pecans.
